Ms. Boles?!?

I will be starting a new endeavor in my career Feb. 6th. I was hired a couple of months ago by Rio Salado's College of Dental Hygiene as a clinical instructor. I am really excited and yet a little nervous! Over the last couple of weeks I have been attending calibration meetings and orientation for pre-clinic which is the clinic I will be teaching in, along with 3 other instructors. It's very surreal stepping out onto the clinic floor now as an instructor and not a student! Rio's dental hygiene school holds a place in my heart since it is where I graduated from in 2000. Even when I was going through the program, I always new I would teach someday but wasn't sure when. You have to have atleast 5 years experience in clinical practice to teach. Last night I came home with a stack of books and a few HUGE manuals I have to read through. I will be demonstrating "hand washing and PPE"(personal protective equipment) on the first day of clinic.
I know that this new adventure will help me to grow as a clinician and as a person. I am very passionate about the profession of dental hygiene and I hope as a teacher I will be able to create value in people's lives, as this is one of my personal goals in 2008. Here's to a very "educational" year!

Dad's Office Christmas Party

My two best girls at work - Renee and Stephanie. We help each other get through the day!!

So I work for my dad as a hygienist every Tuesday, (and sometimes a lot more than that!) and this is the 2nd year in a row that Jason and I have been able to go to the infamous Christmas party that my dad puts on every year for his staff. He is a GREAT boss to work for, and great dentist, and an awesome dad! It's a really far drive for me - I live in Chandler and his office is in Glendale, but it's so worth it! The party was at my dad's house in Peoria. This year we played Family Feud as a staff, we all won some extra money and we had dinner catered in from AJs which was really good. We also had our gift exchange - kind of like a white elephant thing - you pick a gift and then someone can steel yours up to two times.... We all got a coach purse! I'm so glad nobody stole the one I got, because I really wanted to keep it! ha ha It was such a fun night! Jason and I stayed the night and then Jason and my dad played golf the next day, and the girls went shopping. Thanks dad for everything! You are the best!! Thanks also to Tracy, my dad's wife - you did such an amazing job putting everything together! love ya!

Temple Lights

I think this picture should go on a post card - my sis Annie took it with my digital camera. I don't know how she does it - she's just good!

Crazy girls!

The only thing I forgot off of the last post, was our night out to see the temple lights. Jason's parents really wanted to see the lights, remembering it from the time they were here last. It was beautiful as always, and my sisters Ashlee and Annie came as well as my mom. We saw Luke 2, the 8 min movie clip, and the international nativity. Mom gave all of us a tour of the visitors center giving facts around every corner. She really needs to be down there permanently as a missionary! haha We had a really nice time. Temple lights are always a must during the holidays!

Mom & Dad Boles' trip to AZ

I love this picture of them! We all went to the symphony at Phoenix Symphony Hall and it was really fantastic. It was mom and dad's first time and they loved it!

Drea & Jason at the symphony

Ashlee and her black eye.... Ash, stop hanging out in dark alleyways!

Will found himself in the guest bed for a nice little nap. Silly cat!

My crazy sisters on Thanksgiving day. It wouldn't have been the same without Ashlee & Annie!

Mom in my kitchen on Thanksgiving day.

"Give me some of that there turkey.....that looks gooooood"

Family picture - We're missing Jenn, Jay and Alex though!

Jason loves his mom & dad and LOVES that they came to visit!

So the back logging begins.... I know, these pictures are from Thanksgiving, but I am determined to put all of these fun things up on the blog that happened over the holidays!
Jason's parents were here for a whole week, and we had a really great time together. We had the whole fam over for Thanksgiving dinner at our house and I cooked the turkey, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes - everyone brought everything else!
We went to Joe's BBQ (a must for mom - she had to have her BBQ ham sandwich!), and also Grimaldi's - a yummy pizza place that we found here straight from NY - best pizza we've tried!
We went shopping a little and had a fun music night with my sisters and my dad and Tracy one night. That was really fun. I think my favorite night was taking them to the symphony and seeing how much they loved it. It meant a lot to me and Jason. We are so glad they came for a visit, and hope that Jenn, Jay, and Alex can come next time too. We love you guys!
